Golden Gate University School of Law and the Society of American Law Teachers held a two-day Poverty Law Conference in San Francisco on March 19-20, 2010 at Golden Gate University School of Law. On Saturday, March 20, the keynote speaker was John Payton, President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. Mr. Payton successfully argued on behalf of the University of Michigan in a landmark Supreme Court case regarding diversity in higher education.
