John Christopher Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya who was killed there on Sept. 11, was a 1989 graduate of UC-Hastings. Rachel Van Cleave, a classmate of his and now the interim dean at Golden Gate University School of Law, spoke at a vigil for Stevens on the Hastings campus this week.
