First California Annual Animal Law Symposium: How to Create a Better Environment for Animals in a Human-Dominated World

The area of animal law has quickly expanded over the past decade and the issue of animal rights has always been at the forefront. This all-day symposium will focus on current laws and practices that are in place and areas that call for improvement. Some of the topics discussed will cover the link between animal cruelty and human violence, animal testing abuses, non-economic damages in pet tort suits, concentrated animal feeding operations, constitutional law preemption, the consumer protection and animal law intersection, and more.

This is a first-of-its-kind conference, run solely by the dedication of law students of Student Animal Legal Defense Fund chapters. We welcome the legal community and other professions to attend our discussions surrounding the advocacy of animals globally, nationally and within the state of California.
